Public Flogging for Sept 19th
Lower the bar more. If everyone is a top performer than no one is.
Status Updates:
I am barely awake today. It’s been a busy week and I am both excited and exhausted already. I’ve been fighting the good fight against the creativity goblins lately. Nothing serious but just one of the “why am I still doing this” funks. The answer is always “because you can, because you like to, and because you would do it even if no one was watching so you may as well let them watch”. I’m talking about drawing you perverts. I see you giggling in the back.. talk to me later.
Midwest hobo story
I may come back to this comic someday. Something just is a miss on this one for me. I like the faces but maybe I should have made one of them an actual hobo and maybe have them sitting down to share a can of beans and the hobo thinking that another hobo might save him. In other news. My Grandpa and his brother rode the rails for a while. I’m not sure they would have called themselves hobos but they traveled out west by jumping trains to get jobs welding.
Damn Cat
All cats spend some time as evil cats.. that’s why they get 9 lives.. that’s just facts. I have been a cat owner my whole life and have seen things.
Thank you for reading this far
I promised you all memorial site photos.
It had been a number of years since the old Veterans War Memorial was removed. The village had to remove an old nursing that had become unusable. My local post are working to build a new Memorial Tribute.
Progress is happening fast at the site. The concrete and flag have been updated and a large stone will hopefully be added this November.
The stone will say:
We the American Legion Post 227 dedicate this memorial to the memory of those from our community who served and sacrificed all when they answered our country's call to war.
May we never forget the cost.
I thought a lot about how to phrase it without making it a rant. I’m a vet and I didn’t want to glorify war but to remind people that there is a cost that hits close to home when we decide to go to war.
What's Next:
I’m a little nervous about next week. I normally draw on the weekend but this weekend is community stuff and parades. I have at least one comic ready.
…and then Inktober is near!
What I'm Reading/Doing:
I went to a MN United soccer game yesterday. Had a great time and the stadium is gorgeous.
Are you following me? You can.
