Status Updates:
It’s another Friday morning and I’m struggling to remember how I got here from last Friday…. Let me get my coffee and try again.
Nope.. not helping so let’s just jump in and review the things I did this week.
The Comics:
Monday
This one started out as a daily drawing that I liked and didn’t have a punch line until the last minute. I regret not spending a little more time on it but I do like the comic. In hindsight I would do something different in the background. I think these guys could get reused on multiple different comics with different backdrops.
Weird Wednesday
Another comic that I think works but could be better. I think this weeks theme is that I wanted to spend more time on the backgrounds but instead watched TV with the wife. I need to get back to drawing and watching TV with the wife.
Friday
On Friday I have been boiling things down to a minimum. My goal is to get as much done on ink and paper as I can before bringing it into the computer. I also need to dig deeper into the tools I’m using. I want to do more with Clip Studio and I want to use more of my pens. I want to try some different cross hatching styles. Maybe even find some different pen types.

What I’m Reading/Doing:
The Lexicon of Comicana.
Mort Walker was a much better cartoonist that I may have previously considered. I kind of wonder if I looked over 10 year old Scott’s shoulder if he would be reading something Mort Walker produced. There are way to many parts of his drawing style that set off core memory alarms for me.
