I can't keep up with how weird the world is
Status Updates:
I had to stop and re-write this multiple times today. I had the news on in the background and it became noise in my head. It kept pulling my thoughts away from doing this properly. There’s a lot going on in the world today that just adds to the noise.
I’m battling this by being in the moment more often. Turn down the shouting, turn up the music. For example, yesterday I was part of a funeral color guard. There is a fantastic feeling of having a singular purpose for an hour where you know your part. You know what you are doing is important and valued.
I think that will be my goal for this year. I want to find that tasks and jobs that I can do with purpose. Focus on getting them done and then pop up and filter through the noise.

It's 2025, please stop paying people like it's 1995. Actually, give me back my health insurance from 1995 but bump my pay up. I had an opportunity to talk to one of our local business owners recently. It stunned me how he saw the work he did as being of value to his company and the people working for him as “problems to be handled”. If your business employs people then that’s your job no matter what else you do. If you are failing at that and failing them the rest of what you do will eventually fail.

With the recent announcement that fact checking hurts peoples feelings we will be filtering out only the finest approved "alternative" facts.

Seriously. I sometimes wonder if we have made any progress in my kids lifetime. Something yes but as soon as they got cool someone made sure they went to hell asap. Help me out. What has improved in the last 25 years that makes you happy.
Over on Discord
I’m sending out mail this year to people who want it. Over on discord I made the offer and got a few bites. I’d love to see this “pen pal” thing become more popular but I can already tell I may need to take up a collection to pay for stamps. Shout if you want in on this and can play nice on Discord.
What's Next:
I have a few comics queued up that I really like. I still haven’t hit the end of the current sketchbook so I hope you like the hand drawn and marker comics.
What I'm Reading/Doing:
I apparently need to go play bingo next week as part of a veterans fact finding mission. I have no idea how my life got this weird.
